As an Operations Supervisor, you will play a key role in building and sustaining a culture of teamwork, respect, and excellence. We value the well-being of our team members and prioritize a positive workplace atmosphere. You are an integral part of the primary care team during ambulance transports. You are responsible for providing direct patient care, medical transport, performing equipment checks and maintenance, as well as handling station upkeep and housekeeping duties, along with other related tasks as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely submission of timesheets and other payroll documentation  
  • Lead, guide, and assist in training lower-level personnel and/or students as assigned  
  • Deliver competent patient care in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings within the scope of practice 
  • Utilizes Applicant Tracking System(ATS) to screen and select potential candidates
  • Ensure adherence to field policies and processes, timely completion of required paperwork, and proper use of systems
  • Maintain professional interactions with healthcare personnel and patients, including those with disabilities or injuries  
  • Accurately document required information in EMS charts, including PCRs, vehicle inspections, and inventory checks  
  • Ensure cleanliness of equipment and replace used or damaged supplies  
  • Adhere to company and local agency policies, procedures, and protocols for emergency treatment and transportation  
  • Attend refresher programs and continuing education sessions as required by the medical director  
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, ethical demeanor, collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Maintains knowledge of, implements, and enforces departmental policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of EMS procedures and apply them effectively 
  • Safely operate and maintain emergency vehicles in compliance with relevant laws during patient transportation  
  • Provide Lift Assist and demand truck deployment as needed
  • May be required to administer first aid to injured coworkers when necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be physically capable of operating various vehicles and equipment essential to the job duties of an EMS provider.
  • Requires frequent bending, sitting, kneeling, moving, and lifting patients and equipment weighing at least 125 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull objects exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to drive/ ride in an ambulance for extended periods of time without issue.
  • Physical agility is essential to lift and move patients safely.  
  • Physically strenuous and can be emotionally challenging.  

Qualifications:

  • Current CPR   
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record  
  • ACLS (AHA) or ALS (American Red Cross) certification recommended – *Paramedics and CCP only  
  • Current position specific state certification or a NREMT specific certification with ability to obtain reciprocity is required prior to start date  
  • Self-confidence, emotional stability, good judgment, and tolerance for high stress  
  • Possess good verbal communication skills  
  • Ability to handle adverse situations effectively  
  • Must have the ability to effectively interact and communicate with patients, co-workers and administration
  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams while fostering accountability
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, written, oral or diagnostic reports
  • Certified EMT/Paramedic License for your state of employment
  • Self-confidence, emotional stability, good judgment, and tolerance for high stress
  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams while fostering accountability.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
