Operator (Setup Large Insert Automated Cell)

LOCATION: 485 W. 3rd St. Dover, OH
TRAINING SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
PERMANENT SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday Afternoons OR Midnights
THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Mill Drill Insert Supervisor
 

ROLE: To effectively setup and process all large T-A, Universal, and HP inserts, for customer orders through the Automated milling cell. Operators are responsible to apply the rough milling geometry dimensions to the blanks, and inspection of blanks prior to them leaving the department for the Heat Treat operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Operate the 5 Axis milling machine, automation, Inspection.
• Apply point, lip, web, and land milling dimensions to the blanks
• Inspect all dimensions periodically and make necessary machine adjustments if parts are out of tolerance.
• Adjust offsets and work coordinates to produce quality features on all products.
• Ensure that the correct orders are being processed at their work center.
• Observe and report any areas that need addressed.
• Process orders according to appropriate schedule and/or supervisor’s direction and properly stage product for the next operation.
• Calibration of the CNC mill and Automation system
• Maintain a clean and orderly work cell. Sweeping, Mopping, organization of tools, tooling, and work.

Education

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent

Experience

• CNC/ Robot experience preferred.

Minimum Requirements

• Operators are required to stand anywhere from 8-12hrs per day
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 32lbs

Skills

• Good organizational and communication skills
• The ability to use micrometers, digital indicators, and the optical comparator
• The ability to follow a production schedule
• The ability to follow all operating and safety procedures established for each job/machine
• Blueprint reading
