Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  

Operates PBX switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls. Pages, staff using the intercom system. Maintains a general information center acting as receptionist and welcome center to all persons entering the front lobby of Emanuel Medical Center. Assists the Business office with clerical duties as needed and performs all functions in a professional and customer first, oriented manner.

 

Qualifications

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Type 35 wpm and completed PC course.

License: None required

Experience: Prefer healthcare switchboard experience or position involved with meeting public. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; Spanish also preferred.

 

PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently throughout the work day, lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.
  • External and internal applicants who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis.
  • Position has a moderate expected exposure to blood borne pathogens. None
