As an In Room Dining Server at The Umstead Hotel & Spa, the primary function of this position is to provide all In-House Guests with food and beverage service in the privacy of the guest room. The AM/Shift

We are seeking a warm, professional, and detail oriented In Room Dining Server to join our team. This role is responsible for providing refined and personalized service by delivering meals, beverages and amenities directly to guest rooms in accordance with Forbes Five-Star standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates genuine hospitality, excellent communication skills and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences. 

Responsibilities: 

• Deliver food, beverages and amenities to guest rooms with accuracy, efficiency and professionalism
• Set up trays and tables to ensure a polished presentation consistent with hotel and Forbes service standards.
• Anticipate the guest needs and respond promptly to requests, providing warm and thoughtful service.
• Maintain knowledge of the menu and wine selections.
• Ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the In Room Ding area, trays and equipment.
• Handle guest concerns with discretion, professionalism and a solution-oriented approach. 
• Work closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless communication and timely delivery.

Qualifications:

• Previous hospitality or food & beverage service experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Impeccable attention to details and professional presentation.
• Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, weekends and holidays.
• A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest service.

• High school or equivalent education required
• 1+ year hospitality experience (preferred) 
• Previous food service experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
• Must be a self-motivator and motivator of others.
• Must work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
• Must have a good knowledge of food and preparation.
• Must have or quickly acquire a good knowledge of wine.
• Must be able to relate to all levels of guests and management.
• Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
• Able to perform and serve tables both inside and outside on the terrace
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks occasionally.
• Must have impeccable attention to detail.
