Description

The BSA Monitoring Analyst I is responsible for the monitoring and analysis of customer and transactional data, and for taking immediate action to mitigate potential risk and loss. The primary function of this role is prevention, detection, and recovery.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Conducts daily review of alerts generated through the Bank's automated monitoring software.
  2. Reviews customer and account details to determine if money laundering, cyber-crime, identity theft, terrorist financing, human trafficking, fraud, or other types of unusual activity may be occurring.
  3. Determines whether alerted activity should be escalated to case for further investigation.
  4. Collaborates with other team members to effectively analyze accounts and make final decisions in account reviews.
  5. Writes detailed summaries of each alert reviewed.
  6. Identifies the information needed to clarify situations and make appropriate requests from third-party service providers.
  7. Takes appropriate action on all internal and external notifications and requests.
  8. Works with highly sensitive and confidential information.
  9. Performs ongoing analysis of transactions to identify trends and understand potential risks or concerns.
  10. Assists and provides support to others in the department during high volume monitoring periods or absences.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions using data.
  • Ability to organize thoughts and express ideas clearly.
  • Thorough and detail-oriented.
