Summary/Objective:
The Communications & Marketing Director will be responsible for managing the Communications Department, including the branding of Southeast Christian Church. The position will also create, organize, plan and implement effective communication messages/strategies, marketing and online campus for the church and community.
Essential Functions:
- Work with the Creative Pastor to plan and implement communication strategies and needs, including branding in all areas of Southeast.
- Develop and pursue the vision and goals of the online campus ministry, working with the Creative Pastor to align with the vision and goals of Southeast as a whole.
- Proactively plan and work with departments to support their communication needs.
- Create and implement a strategy for becoming more visible in the community and to reach those not currently associated with the church.
- Build, lead, coach and manage the Communications department (including Video and Graphic Design), including staff and volunteers.
- Verbalize and implement communications strategies and tactics.
- Create and oversee the Communications department budget.
- Write and edit communications messages for use in various settings and audiences.
- Recruit, develop and disciple volunteers to provide discipleship, care and community to Southeast’s online community.
- Provide opportunities for the online community to gain connection and community where they live, including opportunities to come to Southeast’s physical location.
- Collaborate with other Southeast ministries to promote and provide online opportunities for the online community to get involved and grow.
- Oversee website and digital platforms, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Ensure high quality pictures and videos are available for digital platforms.
- Strategize and post relevant, engaging content for social media accounts.
- Develop and maintain the Southeast app.
- Troubleshoot website issues and livestreaming capabilities.
- Partner with contracted web maintenance organization to manage website development, strategy and overall user experience.
- Perform other duties, as needed.
Time Requirements:
This position will be completed 40+ hours per week. This position works Sunday through Thursday, including some Fridays/Saturdays, holidays and evenings.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, desktop computers and telephones.
