Position Title: Kids Assistant Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Full/Part time: Part-time (20 hours per week)
Salary Range: $18.50 - $22.00 per hour
Date: May 2025

 

Summary/Objective: 

The Kids Assistant Director will provide administrative and leadership support in the Early Childhood and Elementary halls supporting a vibrant ministry environment that allows children to learn and experience the gospel on a weekly basis.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Coordinate with Kids Director regarding curriculum for Early Childhood and Elementary programs.  Ensure resources for Kids services are prepared for each service and room.
  2. Equip volunteers and leaders with curriculum and supplies, including but not limited to memory verse handouts and parent communication.
  3. Assist in recruiting, training and equipping volunteers to lead children with confidence and effectiveness.
  4. Work collaboratively to maintain an environment that is kid friendly, safe, clean, and wins the trust of parents.
  5. Foster relationships with children, families, and volunteers in a manner which preserves and furthers the integrity of the ministry.
  6. Equip large group/Bible teachers with all supplies and curriculum needed to deliver their message.
  7. Maintain and restock Kids ministry supply closets as needed.
  8. Work with Kids Director to ensure director leadership on weekend services.
  9. Work closely with other staff on any areas of ministry cross-over.
  10. Partner with other staff for special events (including VBS, Easter, Christmas and other church events).
  11. Maintain and execute scheduling system for volunteers using the current church platform.
  12. Implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that effectively convey the core messages of Scripture, fostering a deeper understanding and personal connection to God's Word among children.
  13. Perform other duties, as needed.

 

Time Requirements:

This position will be completed in 20 hours per week (Sundays through Thursdays). Some holidays, weekends and evenings may be required. This position allows a hybrid work schedule.

 

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, desktop computers and telephones. This job also operates in a large classroom setting and requires standing, bending, kneeling and more.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to sit and/or stand for sustained periods of time; lift, push, pull items in excess of 30 lbs; walk and reach with hands and arms.

 

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

Professional/Education

  1. Experience in an administrative role with curriculum experience preferred.
  2. Experience working with children, preferably in a ministry or teaching setting, preferred.
  3. Basic computer and communication skills.
  4. Strong organization and time management skills.
  5. Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of job.
