Summary/Objective:
Serve as a substitute for Weekend Coordinators, providing on-call support for weekend services by leading volunteers in creating engaging, Christ-centered experiences that help children build relationships with Jesus and their church family.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out the ministry vision and strategy by assisting, supporting and empowering volunteers.
- Assist in equipping volunteers to lead children with confidence and effectiveness.
- Work collaboratively to maintain an environment that is kid friendly, safe, clean, and wins the trust of parents.
- Be present in Kids Ministry areas during specific services on weekends, when requested.
- Ensure that ministry area is prepared to receive children and their families with proper staffing, equipment and supplies.
- Ensure that ministry areas/supplies are cleaned properly following weekend services and prepared for weekday scheduling on Sunday night.
- Know the curriculum and be able to guide, direct and explain lesson/activities to volunteers as needed in order to carry out the curriculum strategy on a weekly basis.
- Ensure that proper security and risk management procedures are observed.
- Foster relationships with children, families, and volunteers in a manner which preserves and furthers the integrity of the ministry.
- Report relevant information to the Kids Director and Kids Assistant Director on a weekly basis.
- Pursue growth opportunities approved by the Kids Director and Kids Assistant Director.
- Other duties as assigned.
Time Requirement:
Occasional Sundays (on-call), Christmas Eve and Easter services as needed.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a church/classroom facility and uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, desktop computers and telephones.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand for sustained periods of time; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must have the ability to hold and carry children up to age two.
