Position Summary
The position assembles fabricated parts at floor stations to make subassemblies or complete units using hand tools and light power tools and equipment.
Principle Accountabilities
- Adheres to schedule and maintains regular attendance at work-site. Works overtime as assigned.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment, returns all tools after use to proper storage location, and performs routine housekeeping (i.e.: cleaning, organizing). Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Identifies unsafe working conditions or equipment and notifies supervisor.
- Reads production drawings and manufactures products in accordance with engineering specifications; communicates any deviations with supervisor.
- Inspects incoming parts for conformance to prints and suitability for assemblies; ensures assembly meets specifications, including proper component selection, installation of all components and fasteners, proper product marking and correct stacking and banding; Cleans all threads and ensures that fasteners can be properly installed; checks functionality of doors, hinges, torsion bars, springs, and hold down bolts upon assembly of each part and ensures product is functioning properly.
- Uses cranes, forklifts and other lifting equipment, when certified, in support of manufacturing.
