Description

At Children’s Crisis Treatment Center (CCTC), our staff is dedicated to addressing the impact of childhood traumatic events and other challenges.  The Behavioral Health Worker will support and follow through with treatment team recommendations in a fast-paced environment and meet the needs of the children ages 5-13 and their families presenting with crisis and behavioral health issues in a trauma-informed manner.

 

Summary of Essential Functions:

 

  • Implement and follow, with fidelity, the approved, by leadership (i.e., Executive leadership, Division Director, Program Director, Clinical Supervisor), schedule of activities and clinical structure no matter what is happening with individual children in the rooms.
  • Implements clients’ treatment plan in the structural milieu of the Acute Partial Program within first day of service for children; meeting the clients’ overall therapeutic needs to facilitate effective therapy strategies for the client with the Clinician.
  • Meets twice per week with the Acute Partial team (Clinicians, BHW’s and Clinical Care Coordinators) to review treatment of children reviewing treatments that are working compared with those that are not. Actively participates in the treatment planning meetings reviewing treatment strategies, discharge planning for clients, and other interagency meetings as needed.
  • Writes and completes 100% of assigned daily progress notes by the end of the 5th day of service; Reviews challenges or obstacles with assigned Clinician immediately to effectively meet daily and weekly goals regarding daily progress notes.
  • Meet 3 times per week with the Clinician on their team to process, plan, and prepare for the daily activities within the program room.
  • Meet biweekly for group and individual supervision with the Program Room assigned Clinician.
  • When incidents occur, file incident reports and bring such reports to the attention of the Clinician within 24 hours of occurrence.
  • Provide emergency clinical service and support as needed.
  • Attending weekly all staff team meetings.
  • Maintains the group room and other play areas to provide an ordered, safe, clean and therapeutic environment always.
  • Attends in-service and training meetings as assigned and in accordance with state and CBH regulations. When applicable, reports back information from training in weekly meetings to educate other Acute Partial staff.
  • Immediately employs Sanctuary Model with clients, families and staff and monitors its use in the Acute Partial Program to effectively maintain the Sanctuary Model for all.

 

 

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Science, Nursing or Bachelor of Arts Degree from an Accredited educational institution.

Minimum of one (1) year case management, counseling or direct care mental health experience with children and families.

The ability to work effectively with diverse cultures including those CCTC serves, staff, other provider agencies, payers and regulatory agencies.

This individual will have strong organizational skills that serve to support CCTC’s mission and vision.
