Qualifications/Skills required
- At least 5 years of experience in paving in residential construction projects and heavy equipment. Ability to operate paving screed, paver, rollers, and direct delivery trucks.
- Experienced with all types of paving equipment including rollers, water trucks, skid steers, curb & gutter slip form paver, and paving machine.
- Experienced with concrete paving prep, placing road base, measuring, and tracking quantities, maintaining grade and elevation for proper installation of material.
- Possess a valid driver license and maintain clear driving record.
- OSHA 10 certification, CPR, and First Aid certified a plus.
- Education – High school diploma or GED and equivalent experience. College a plus.
- Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment operated and schedule/log maintenance records for all equipment.
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively with the crew, fellow workers, and management.
- Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; Develops realistic action plans.
- Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

Supervisory Responsibility and Direct Reports:

Expected Hours of Work & Working Environment:
- This is a full-time position. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work. All days start no later than 7:00 a.m. unless otherwise directed. Regular attendance and punctuality at the workplace are required.
- Majority of work is OKC Metro. Leadership classes may be attended outside of work hours and location.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to all outside weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions, very hot (above 90 degrees F), or very cold (below 32 degrees F) temperatures. Frequently exposed to fumes, dust, or airborne particles. Moving mechanical parts and vibration. Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions. Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are possibly moderate to loud and distracting or uncomfortable. Requires wearing required protective safety equipment.
Physical Demands:

- Performs labor incidental to the work of operating equipment and other laboring tasks when required. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts push-pulls or carry objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to speak and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb in and out of equipment, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, walk, and require repetitive movement. Ascending and descending ladders or stairs are required and movement on uneven terrain is frequently required to carry out essential
duties. Driving a vehicle is required. Work in the construction area poses a significantly greater risk due to moving construction equipment and active construction zones with trip and fall hazards.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job could include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
