Community & Marketing Manager

PURPOSE AND OVERVIEW OF ROLE

This role reports jointly to the Atelier Director of Community and Global Brand Partnerships and the property Director of Sales and Marketing, while working closely with the Brand Marketing and PR teams at Atelier Ace. Acting as an extension of the brand, the position focuses on multi-channel marketing, partnerships, programming, and community engagement.

A successful Community & Marketing Manager is guest- and community-focused, commercially minded, and highly self-motivated. They balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution—capable of setting big-picture goals, building strong relationships, and using guest insights and market data to inform growth. They also thrive in the day-to-day: optimizing campaigns, producing events, analyzing performance, and solving problems in real time.

CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and manage quarterly marketing plans and calendars focused on property awareness, community engagement, and revenue growth across rooms and F&B.
  • Execute a content marketing strategy across web, email, and social media.
  • Design and implement event marketing strategies aligned with quarterly goals and rooted in culturally relevant programming.

Partnerships & Community Engagement

  • Cultivate and negotiate partnerships with brands, organizations, and creators that drive cultural value and audience growth.
  • Develop and manage barter or collaborative agreements that create mutual value.
  • Lead partnership activations and public moments, including large-scale events and exhibitions.
     

Food & Beverage Marketing

  • Collaborate closely with F&B teams and the Atelier Senior F&B Marketing Manager on restaurant-focused marketing plans, including content, social, and programming.

Digital & Creative Production

  • Write briefs for digital and print collateral; partner with Atelier Creative for production aligned with brand standards.
  • Maintain and update property and event pages across digital platforms.
  • Audit brand and third-party websites regularly for accuracy.

Data, Reporting & Budget Management

  • Leverage data (e.g., from social, POS, and reservations) to optimize programming and guest engagement.
  • Track and report KPIs monthly to internal leadership and stakeholders.
  • Manage the property's marketing and entertainment budget in collaboration with the Commercial Director and Atelier Brand team.
  • Produce ROI analysis and event recaps, with recommendations for improvement.

Programming & Activation

  • Lead hotel programming initiatives, including music and performance bookings and artist/partner residencies.
  • Produce on-site events, overseeing logistics and cross-team collaboration.
  • Maintain internal programming budgets and forecasts.

Influencer & Creator Relations

  • Build and maintain a roster of brand ambassadors and creatives; manage hosted stays and deliverables tied to marketing goals.

Press & Communications Support

  • Collaborate with the Atelier Press team to coordinate PR needs, including media visits, requests, and on-property shoots.
  • Share quarterly initiatives with PR teams and agency partners for earned media support.

Team Collaboration & Delegation

  • Delegate tasks to Coordinators (Sales & Marketing, F&B) and provide clear weekly responsibilities, coaching for growth and optimal execution.

Asset Management

  • Maintain asset libraries, sales decks, and third-party content platforms (e.g. Pics.io).

SUPPORTING FUNCTIONS

In addition to the core focus & responsibilities, the candidate is expected to complete the following duties:

  • Ensure ongoing development of personal skills/knowledge to enhance continuous improvement by creating and actioning personal development plans and networking activities.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all by ensuring compliance with all WHS safety programs and building a care culture throughout the team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain awareness of Ace Hotel & Atelier initiatives and actively commit to putting into action.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Passion and understanding for the Ace Hotel brand and the culture and interests of the local community
  • 5+ years of marketing experience, ideally with partnership, community, event programming, and production experience
  • A deep understanding of local Brooklyn culture, including music, art, food and beverage, and current and fervent themes in Brooklyn/NYC
  • Experience with social media management and content development, including copywriting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project manager and cross-functional collaborator. Able to motivate teams, multitask and prioritise against competing deadlines, evaluate tradeoffs, flag concerns, and ensure key objectives are met
  • Optimistic, proactive, self-driven and results-oriented
  • Ability to report on and synthesize qualitative and quantitative results, in order to optimise efficiency and effectiveness of campaigns and partnerships
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen

Candidate must meet the following cognitive abilities:

  • Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests.
  • Ability to acknowledge guests’ requests in a polite manner.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English (additional foreign languages are encouraged and preferred).
  • Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to address and solve problems involving guest and operational issues.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical hotel environment.
