JOB SUMMARY:
The Sales Counselor is committed to serving seniors and their families. The incumbent will strive to ensure a compassionate, smooth transition and move-in experience for prospective residents and their families by providing exceptional support and service. This role manages the sales process from inquiry to move-in while driving occupancy growth aligned with marketing and financial goals. The Sales Counselor builds strong referral partnerships and leads outreach efforts to support the community’s business objectives. While working closely with the leadership team, this position helps develop strategies to enhance resident satisfaction and community growth. This role is an  exempt position and reports directly to the Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responds promptly and professionally to inquiries via phone, online channels, and in-person visits.
- Conducts engagement, informative tours, virtual presentations tailored to prospective residents and families.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of leads and sales activity within the CRM system.
- Builds trusting relationships with prospective residents, families, and referral sources.
- Consistently achieves or exceeds monthly move-in, occupancy, and conversion targets.
- Collaborates closely with the assisted living leadership team to develop and implements strategies that drive census growth and enhance resident satisfaction.
- Creates and executes personalized follow-up plans to support prospective residents.
- Ensures model apartments, respite rooms, and sales office are impeccably maintained, ready for tours.
- Maintains a comprehensive back-up plan for community tours to ensure seamless service during absences or peak demand periods.
- Represent the community at local networking events, health fairs, and other outreach activities in coordination with and with the prior approval of the Executive Director.
- Works closely with the Executive Director to confirm participation in any external marketing or community events, ensuring that attendance supports the community’s goals and priorities.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with healthcare professionals, senior organizations, and referral partners in alignment with community leadership.
- Assists in organizing / hosting on-site events, educational sessions per community engagement / visibility.
- Guides families through assessments, contract processes, and move-in logistics.
- Works with maintenance to ensure units are cleaned, prepared and ready for new admissions.
- Ensures residents’ rooms are fully prepared with welcome gifts, onboarding plans, keys, and pendants ahead of scheduled contract signings.
- Adheres to community admission procedures, providing thorough education and guidance to prospective residents and responsible parties about services, programs, and accommodations.
- Collects / verifies all documentation prior to submission to Resident Care Manager to maintain accuracy..
- Proactively communicates with the Executive Director and Resident Care Manager regarding any concerns or circumstances that could impact the admission process or resident experience post-admission.
- Collaborates effectively with clinical, administrative, and operational teams to facilitate smooth transitions and ongoing resident satisfaction.
- Delivers compassionate support and information throughout the resident’s journey.
- Manages inventory and ensures adequate availability of marketing and collateral materials.
- Submits weekly / monthly reports on admissions, move-outs, room transfers, inquiries, and referral sources.
- Participates in community operational meetings as directed by the Executive Director.
- Engages in ACC Senior Services events and initiatives as appropriate.
- Fosters partnerships & resource-sharing opportunities by collaborating with other ACC services / programs.
- Assists the Life Enrichment department with resident activities as needed.
