JOB SUMMARY:Â
The Maintenance Technician is responsibilities for the maintenance and repairs of minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment. Responsibilities also include trouble-shooting heating and air-conditioning malfunctions, minor remodeling and carpentry work. This position is an hourly (non-exempt) position and primarily reports to the Administrator, with secondary reporting to the Environmental Services Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Â
- Installs, repairs and maintains plumbing to include piping, fittings and fixtures involved in the distribution and use of water and gas
- Operates and makes minor electrical repairs throughout facility, including the installation of junction boxes, receptacles and switches; tests, troubleshoots and replaces motors, belts, pulleys and micro switches; monitors / replaces lights, fixtures, and electrical appliances as needed.
- General Maintenance: repairs and services sprinkler systems to include sprinkler valves, PVC piping and outside water and control valves; performs minor concrete repairs to sidewalks and patios; maintains outside facility lighting systems to include parking lots and refuse areas.
- Utilizes carpentry / wood-working skills; finish work, cabinetry, painting and minor repairs.
- Maintains / repairs various floorings throughout facility including linoleum, carpeting, title.
- Maintains tools and equipment; ensure proper use and good working order.
- Receives incoming freight and notifies respective departments of merchandise arrivals.
- Assists maintenance staff with building safety procedures, monitoring fire panels and systems, fire extinguishers, security alarm systems and power connections in the facilities; assists with keeping buildings free of safety hazards (including fire hazards, hazardous waste and trip and fall risks).
- Responsible for assisting with unit turnovers
- Required to be on-call for emergency maintenance issues and repairs.
