POSITION SUMMARY: A Slot Shift Supervisor will direct activity of the slot floor, and ensure that Bear River Casino Resort is well represented to our guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Supervise slot attendants and technicians. Offer counseling and coaching when applicable.
  • Keep all workspaces clean and organized, both on the casino floor and office areas.
  • Maintain integrity of slot machines.
  • Ensure employees follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the overall operation of the slot floor during assigned shift.
  • Make schedule adjustments under the advisement of the floor manager should there be any last minute changes.
  • Keep track of all employee breaks.
  • Resolve any customer disputes.
  • Issue comps within assigned limits to qualifying patrons.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all jackpots/hand pays are processed correctly, and that all required paperwork is completed and signed.
  • Completes daily shift activity reports, and informs technicians of any machines that are not properly functioning.
  • Performs personnel functions including training, completing evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Perform minor tech work on slot machines, when a technician is not available.
  • Enforce Title 31 regulations.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and also keep staff productive when it is slow.
  • Must be able to maintain a working relationship with other departmental supervisors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Shall provide oversight to Slot Attendants.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. A supervisor must be able to stand for 8 to 10+ hours in a smoking environment.  Manual and finger dexterity required. Must be able to bend, reach, squat and able to lift at least thirty pounds (30 lbs.).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in the slot machine industry. Experience within the last year required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of cash handling and customer service experience.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Must have adequate written and verbal communication skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Shall possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS

  • Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
  • Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
