Facility Technician I

Summary:

The Facility Technician I will perform minor repairs and will help to troubleshoot equipment. This position will also perform routine facility and equipment maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation, maintenance and repairs of production machines and facility equipment.
• Assist with building maintenance and repairs such as painting the building, performing carpentry work, and installing pipes.
• Keep the maintenance shop clean and organized.
• Operate a forklift and a scissor lift.
• Perform other duties and projects as needed and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications - Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Ability to work in heights and to climb and descend a ladder.
• Experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Must have basic computer skills and a valid driver’s license.
• Must have good communication skills because of daily contact with internal employees.
• Must be able to pass a background check, drug test and a reference check.

Physical Demands:

• Required to stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, climb, balance, kneel, reach, grasp, have eye/hand/foot coordination, and occasionally type.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 20lbs.
• This position works in a typical office, warehouse, and manufacturing environment.
• Clarity of vision including the ability to appropriately differentiate colors.
• Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
