- Experience in construction, maintenance, and all facets of facility operation.
- Supervisory experience.
- Solid computer and systems knowledge.
- Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- OSHA 30 training preferred.
- Ability to write and read English.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in related technical field or equivalent working experience
- Minimum of 5 years maintenance/facilities/manufacturing experience with at least 2 in supervision.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This is a supervisory position.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Provide leadership to develop and guide management team.
- Manage department budget.
- Create, communicate, and oversee department objectives.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Moderate physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of medium weight materials. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Use of hand/fingers regularly through shift to manipulate components, tools, etc.
- Regularly required to sit or stand for the length of shift, bend, and reach.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
- The use of Safety Glasses as required.
- Work in and around moving machinery – required not to wear any loose/dangling articles of clothing or jewelry which could get entangled in machines.
- Other equipment as needed by specific machines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work performed in a shop environment.
- Common industrial chemical and fume exposure will occur.
- Hot and cold work conditions exist, and adequate PPE is required.
- Assignments to perform work outdoors and indoors can be expected.
- Exposure to electrical current and potential shock, natural and compressed gases, moving parts and equipment.
