Compensation Range:

$70,000 - $90,000 per year (depending on level and location)

How You Will Contribute

The Mental Health Milieu Manager provides training, scheduling, and immediate supervision for the Psychiatric Tech team at their designated facility. Position collaborates with the Executive Director to ensure adequate staffing is maintained, ensuring a high level of client safety and customer service. The Mental Health Milieu Manager provides support for staff and clients in various clinical, nutritional, and administrative activities to ensure optimal client outcome 7 days a week. Serves as a trainer and mentor to the Behavioral Technicians, providing coaching for continuous quality improvement. Demonstrate a desire and willingness to model the STR mission within job responsibilities and uphold the mission within interactions with others.

 

Relationships and Contacts

Within the organization:  Maintains frequent and close working relationships with team members throughout all levels of the facility.

Outside the organization:  Initiates and maintains professional therapeutic engagement with clients and families. May initiate and maintain working relationships with clinical providers, referral partners and vendors as needed and directed.

 

Position Responsibilities

 

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Provides immediate supervision for Psychiatric Technicians in the oversite of clients throughout their treatment program, ensuring client safety and a high level of customer service.
    1. Participates in the hiring process.
    2. Provides onboarding training, coaching, mentoring and performance management activities.
    3. Creates and maintains team schedules ensuring adequate staffing levels at all times.
  2. Promotes client involvement in the treatment program; supports clients throughout their treatment journey.
  3. Performs routine forms of daily client care while assisting and ensuring timely and effective clinical activities, charting and orientation completion.
  4. Collaborates with the Clinical Director to ensure appropriate emotional support is provided to clients.
  5. Demonstrates the ability to lead group(s) and mentors Behavioral Health Techs in these efforts.
  6. Communicates pertinent client information to the Clinical team in a timely manner.
  7. Maintains timely and clinically appropriate documentation, ensures Behavioral Health Technicians are trained in and adhere to documentation processes.
  8. Implement and supervise APA Protocol, including leading a monthly APA prevention meetings
  9. Monitor and fill residential supplies
  10. Ensures BHT’s are participating and eating meals with the clients, providing role modeling health food and body image behaviors. 
    1. Observes client behavior during and after meals. 
    2. Mentors the Lead BHT’s with the same.
  11. Assists with and leads in the timely completion of administrative duties, including but not limited to checklists, answering phones, mail distribution, scheduling.
  12. Represents the Psychiatrist Tech team in treatment team meetings, leadership meetings, and other meetings as needed.   
  13. Ability to understand and manage complex schedules
  14. Supervise, coordinate, and implement intakes during traditional and non-traditional hours and days
  15. Collaborate with Executive Director and meet with clients that may need help with challenging behavior or ensuring treatment engagement
  16. Schedule and implement client recreational activities, phone schedule, shopping schedule, meeting schedule, gym schedule
  17. Assists with and leads in the timely completion of housekeeping duties, including cleaning of facilities (i.e. taking out trash, loading and unloading dishwasher, laundry, running errands and other duties as assigned).
  18. Leads and facilitates meetings with the BHT’s throughout the year and records minutes.
  19. Conducts tours for clients, family members, students, visitors, as requested.
  20. Updates job knowledge by participating in training and educational opportunities.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Functions within the guidelines of the facility’s Code of Ethics and in accordance with corporate compliance.
  2. Conduct chart audits following program policy timelines, as requested.
  3. Can be relied upon to be at work as scheduled and is rarely absent from work, notifying the supervisor if absent.
  4. Demonstrates an ability to adapt to changes in the facility function, management styles, and facility routines.
  5. Reads, understands, adheres to and models all company policy statements on ethics, conduct, and conflict of interests.
  6. Maintains positive attitude and acts as a team player with others on the treatment team.
  7. Attends all supervisory trainings within assigned time frames as required by the facility.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What We're Seeking

Education and Experience

Position requires a bachelor’s degree, a minimum 2 years’ experience in the Human Service Field, mental health preferred. Must also have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle use. Must also have a working Knowledge of mental health and Healthcare Systems, knowledge and experience with basic Microsoft software packages and familiarity with Electronic Medical Record Documentation. Also One-year minimum of supervision experience, 5-10 people preferred.

 

 

 

Other Requirements

  • Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and acceptable driving record.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to complete within the first 30 days of employment.

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
