Description

We’re seeking an experienced Billing Supervisor to lead and support our billing team in delivering efficient, accurate, and compliant revenue cycle operations. In this role, you’ll provide day-to-day oversight, training, and performance management for billing staff, ensuring all processes align with organizational priorities and regulatory standards. You’ll play a vital role in driving operational excellence, supporting team development, and contributing to the organization’s overall financial success.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Properly train, educate and discipline Reimbursement Specialists on required job tasks.
  • Review and approve Reimbursement Specialists payroll and Paid Time Off requests.
  • Utilize daily, weekly and monthly reports accordingly to supervise team.
  • Work closely with Sr. Manager to grasp all aspects of any generated income and problematic areas.
  • Relay important information and updates to appropriate department staff and managers.
  • Perform regular internal staff audits.
  • High team interaction; ability to effectively work within a team environment.
  • Provide feedback to upper management on changes/updates that impact RCM.
  • Effectively communicate with external vendors/payers to resolve claim issues.
  • Ability to analyze and solve behavioral health, medical and lab billing issues.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to document and explain detailed trainings and apply oral/written instructions as needed.
  • Acceptable and reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Any and all other tasks or projects, as assigned.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 5 years of thorough working knowledge of entire medical billing process and revenue cycle workflow.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Moderate experience of Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse billing and behavioral health carve out plans.
  • Ability to coach staff in day to day responsibilities.
  • Ability to develop and train staff on process improvements.
  • Ability to achieve maximum time effectiveness.
  • Ability to successfully partner with CBO Management and Operations Leadership.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Billing Process Oversight:
    • Charges, payment posting, appealing AR, mail & deposits, patient billing, internal audits, external audits, and event tracking.
  • All other tasks or projects, as assigned.
  • Acceptable and reliable attendance and punctuality.

Physical and Environmental Demands:

  • Vision sufficient to read a computer screen, printed text, and handwritten documents.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard daily.
  • Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone, and in various forms of written communication.
  • Ability to analyze and solve behavioral health billing issues.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to document and explain detailed trainings and apply oral/written instructions as needed.
