Test Driver - Long Beach, CA

Kett Engineering is accepting application and pre-qualifying candidates to be test drivers on both the 1st and 2nd shift. Test Drivers will be working with our customer, a prestigious German automobile manufacturer, in an automotive testing / research and development program in Long Beach, CA.

We are seeking reliable, technically savvy people with a general knowledge of how automobiles work.

Starting pay is $18.00/hr.

Must be available to work weekends

Shift times are:

(Can vary 2 hours at shift start and end time depending on projects)

1st shift: 4:30 am to 1:00 pm

2nd shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm

Job Summary and General Purpose of Position:

The Test Driver follows the direction of Lead Driver/Facility Coordinator. Performs various driving services on vehicles per shift according to customer’s specifications. Represents Kett in a professional manner.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrate ability to drive all routes trained on, with integrity and consistency
• Ability to test vehicle infotainment systems
• Prepare accurate driver reports and other records on a daily basis, document observations in a clear and concise manner
• Perform related driving/vehicle prep work as assigned.
• Assist with training of drivers
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.

Must be Tech Savvy and have knowledge and experience with vehicle infotainment systems.

Skills and Experience: Must have at 4 years of licensed driving experience and possess a current operators license. Must have a clean driving record with no points, moving violations or at-fault accidents.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Job requires sitting standing, and bending for approximately 6-8 hours on a daily basis.

Must pass a drug screen and background check.
