Job Description

As part of the Creative Team at River Valley Church, the Filmmaker will be working collaboratively and independently to create original content that clearly communicates the mission, vision, and values of River Valley Church.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Filmmaker is required to perform a range of duties including, but not limited to:

 

  • Work independently, as well as with a team, to develop creative video ideas
  • Develop concepts into concrete ideas, strategize story elements, visualize shots, create storyboards, etc.
  • Scout potential film shoot locations 
  • Work efficiently and professionally in the film studio and on location.
  • Handle equipment rental and purchases
  • Report project statuses to the team as needed 
  • Handle several film projects in different stages of production at any given time.
  • Have the ability to function in various roles on a per project basis. This includes pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Able to be flexible for the occasional evening and weekend shoots.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and competing deadlines.

 

Other Responsibilities

Individual will complete responsibilities in accordance with the church’s policies and applicable procedures as assigned.  Ability to travel and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Strong time management and problem solving skills
  • Experience editing video using the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with After Effects and a 3D package such as Cinema 4D a plus
  • Experience in lighting and sound recording

 

Education

Any combination of education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described with an emphasis on continual learning.

 

Experience

Successful candidate should have at least 2-3 years related experience.   

 

Work Environment

The work environment is highly collaborative. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
