POSITION OVERVIEW:
Assists in implementing academic lesson plans for students in grades 3-5 at CCS. Works with Academic Dean and Director of Exceptional Education to help support all students in a variety of inclusive academic settings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with students in grades 3-5 enrolled at CCS across grade level content areas (reading, writing, math, science, social studies, Bible).
- Thinks creatively about ways to provide enrichment and growth beyond the grade-level curriculum.
- Works well as part of a grade-level team.
- Maintains confidentiality of all students at CCS.
- Provides one-on-one or small group instruction to reinforce concepts taught by the lead teacher.
- Assists with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Prepares and organizes instructional materials and resources.
- Participates in professional development opportunities as required.
- Provides feedback to the lead teacher regarding student progress and behavior.
- Collaborates with specialists, such as interventionists, therapists, counselors, and other support staff to support student needs.
- Works in classrooms to ensure accommodations and modifications are provided for eligible students.
- Communicates clearly through speaking and writing
- Is comfortable using a variety of technology
- Other job duties as assigned by the LS Academic Dean.
