This individual is responsible for the hogging/separation of contaminated scrap and the operation of the auto baler scrap system.
Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions)
- Remove scrap and waste from machine centers; separate contaminated material such as wax coating
- Operate scrap shredder; shred all unusable paper and corrugated
- Operate and maintain dust collection system
- Operate and maintain auto bale tie machine
- Operate and monitor cyclone collection system
- Change out wire on the machine as needed; maintain baling wire inventory
- Load and/or unload scrap or scrap bales on trailers; remove scrap units from auto tie unit
- Operate forklift as needed to collect, transfer, and load scrap
- Must monitor performance in relation to established goals; ensure the crew remains focused on meeting goals
- Must ensure accurate reporting in the computer system on all jobs
- Perform preventative maintenance of the machinery and communicate any issues to supervisor or maintenance
- Report safety and equipment issues to supervisor
- Ensure good housekeeping in the baler area and in surrounding areas on the production floor
- Maintain positive and productive communications with all relationships
- Must follow all company policies and procedures
- Must be trained on Box-Board Products, Inc. Employee Practices for AIB Compliance (a.k.a. Good Manufacturing Practices or G.M.P.’s); must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.’s)

- Tape measure, computer, calculator, utility knife, hand tools, air hose, gloves and PPE.

- Moving mechanical parts; wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; vibration; loud noise; dust.
