Qualifications: 
1.    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. 
2.    5+ years of HR experience, with exposure to multiple HR disciplines (employee relations, recruiting, training, compliance, benefits). 
3.    2+ years of leadership or supervisory HR experience. 
4.    Knowledge of HR best practices and employment law. 
5.    Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. 
6.    Experience in a manufacturing, agriculture, food & beverage, or production environment preferred. 
7.    Bilingual English/Spanish required. 
8.    Demonstrated experience managing safety programs and building a safety culture. 
9.    Experience managing the full workers’ compensation cycle. 
10.    Proven ability to design, deliver, and support training and development programs.

 

Summary: 
The HR Manager provides day-to-day Human Resources leadership for the Sunnyside facility, serving as a trusted partner to employees and supervisors. This role manages a wide range of HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, safety culture, workers’ compensation, training and development, and compliance. The HR Manager plays a key role in promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture, ensuring employees feel supported, valued, and aligned with company goals while maintaining compliance with employment laws and safety regulations. 
 
Job Duties: 
1.    Serve as the primary HR contact for the Sunnyside facility, providing leadership in employee relations, safety, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations. 
2.    Partner with management to address HR operational issues such as employee and labor relations, compensation reviews, benefits, performance management, and training. 
3.    Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for the Sunnyside facility, ensuring effective workforce planning. 
4.    Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; partner with leaders and employees to promote safe work practices. 
5.    Manage the full cycle of workers’ compensation, including reporting, tracking, carrier coordination, and return-to-work processes. 
6.    Identify training needs and coordinate or deliver programs to support employee development, compliance, and leadership growth. 
7.    Ensure compliance with company policies, labor regulations, and HR best practices. 
8.    Investigate claims of misconduct, resolve employee relations issues, and engage legal counsel when appropriate. 
9.    Maintain HR records and HRIS accuracy, preparing reports as required.

10.    Support employee engagement initiatives and promote a positive workplace culture. 
11.    Collaborate with HR leadership to align practices with company-wide goals. 
12.    Coach supervisors and managers on HR-related matters, including safety accountability, performance, and employee development. 
13.    Monitor HR metrics and recommend improvements to site HR practices and processes. 
14.    Provide support in succession planning and career development initiatives for the Sunnyside workforce. 
15.    Participate in and support organizational change management projects and continuous improvement efforts. 
16.    Maintain sanitary and safe work environment and follow safety requirements. 
17.    Actively participate on company’s Safety Committee. 
18.    Ensure that company safety policies as well as federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations are observed. 
19.    Must have a complete understanding of company’s policies, SOPs, QPs, EPs, HACCP, and cGMP that pertain to their department to ensure quality, safety, efficiency, and sustainability. 
20.    Must adhere to all company policies. 
21.    Examine documents, materials, and products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications. 
22.    Follow all SOPs in a given area. 
23.    Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager and/or designee.
