SCHEDULE:
Monday to Friday, 7:00AM - 4:00 PM (with flexibility for extended hours and weekend)
PAY RANGE:
$30.00 - $45.00
- Pay is commensurate with experience, skill level, and certifications (ASE, CDL). The upper end of the range is reserved for candidates with extensive experience and advanced credentials.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance of a diverse fleet including Class A commercial trucks, trailers, forklifts (electric, propane, and diesel), and various industrial and facility equipment for our Oakland facilities. This role is essential to minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring safe, efficient plant operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Heavy-Duty Vehicle & Trailer Maintenance:
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM), repairs, and DOT inspections on Class A commercial trucks.
- Diagnose and repair engines (Cummins, Paccar, etc.), transmissions, air/hydraulic brakes, suspensions, electrical, and emissions systems.
- Maintain and repair trailer chassis, landing gear, brake systems, lights, and frames.
- Use diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults
- Forklift & Material Handling Equipment:
- Diagnose, service, and repair LPG, diesel, and electric forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
- Maintain batteries, hydraulic components, tires, and electrical systems.
- Conduct routine safety and operational checks; maintain detailed service records.
- Facility & Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform minor facility repairs (plumbing, HVAC, lighting, electrical, roll-up doors, dock equipment).
- Support general warehouse maintenance and respond to emergency repair needs.
- General Duties:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment compliant with OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Document all work activities, repairs, and parts used in the maintenance tracking system.
- Assist with inventory management and vendor coordination.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
