POSITION: Project Manager, Development and Marketing Communications 

LOCATION: Hybrid – San Jose

SUPERVISOR: Director of Marketing and Communications  

JOB TYPE: Full Time, Exempt

COMPENSATION: $98,000 - $115,000 Annually

Established in 1980, HomeFirst™ is a nonprofit organization passionately working to end homelessness. We serve the Bay Area community through low-barrier programming and systems leadership – meeting each person where they are by offering support and resources that address immediate and long-term housing needs. POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Manager with at least four years of experience working within the Development and Marketing Communications team. This role is central to coordinating and executing high-impact projects that elevate our brand, enable us to meet our strategic goals, and support the mission and purpose of the agency.  
 
You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to manage timelines, deliverables, meetings and resources for campaigns, events, donor communications, donor appeals, website, social media, programs/services and HR materials in print, digital and experiential. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, works collaboratively and experienced in project execution with tight and often conflicting deadlines. Non-profit, mission-aligned experience a plus. 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This role reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Project Coordination

  • Lead and manage end-to-end projects for Dev + MarCom team including campaigns, brand materials, social media, video production, website, events, email, newsletter and internal agency requests. 
     

Content Workflow

  • Oversee production timelines, deliverables and resourcing for all Dev + MarCom projects including donor newsletters, social media content, branded collateral, website updates and event materials.

 

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Manage project communication within Dev + MarCom team as well as cross-functionally across the agency and with external vendors (e.g. printers, freelance support, outside web development, etic). 

 

Campaign Execution

  • Support the planning and rollout of multi-channel campaigns (email, web, social, direct mail) that deliver successful project outcomes and achieving strategic objectives. 

 

Meetings & Communication

  • Coordinate and lead team and project meetings, responsible for notes and follow up, ensure team and workload aligns with deadlines, budgets and project goals. 

 

Tools & Process

  • Manages workflow tools (Asana) and implements improvements in workflows, documentation and outcomes as needed.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS (YOU HAVE)

 

  • 4 plus years of professional experience in project management role in nonprofit development and/or marketing communications. 
  • BA in Communications or relative experience. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, task estimations and budget management. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines. 
  • Strong understanding of mission-driven communications, storytelling and campaign implementation for marketing and donor engagement. 
  • Experienced with project management tools (Asana) and other workflow technology.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams. 
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion and social justice. 

 

Preferred Skills 

  • Familiarity with donor databases, project management and marketing tools (Fundraise Up, Constant Contact, Asana, Adobe Express, Canva). 
  • Experience working with creative teams and vendors (printers, videographers, photographers, web developers). 
  • Understanding of data-driven decision-making in fundraising and marketing.
