We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Production Data Analyst Intern to support our operations team in improving data accuracy and efficiency across key production areas. The intern will record, analyze, and benchmark run-time data from Saws, Grinding, and Forge operations. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in time studies, process analysis, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment. The intern’s findings will directly support improved production benchmarking and quoting accuracy across operations. This role will help identify better methods for capturing key performance data to support data-driven decision making 

This position is classified as a temporary internship, part-time (approximately 20 hours per week), with an expected duration of six months. Typical days and hours of work will be coordinated with the assigned supervisor to accommodate both school and business schedules.  

This role is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering who are eager to apply classroom concepts to real-world challenges while developing technical, analytical, and professional skills. Successful interns may be considered for a full-time positions upon graduation, depending on performance and business needs. 

 

  • Conduct detailed time studies and data collection on Saws, Grinding, and Forge operations. 

  • Analyze collected data and compare findings to current assumptions and standards. 

  • Evaluate setup times, run rates, wheel consumption, and blade life by alloy and operation. 

  • Identify opportunities for improved data accuracy and process efficiency. 

  • Develop recommendations for enhancing production data capture methods and KPI tracking. 

  • Prepare reports and visual summaries to communicate key findings and trends. 

  • Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering program (junior or senior level preferred). 

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis 

  • Attention to detail and analytical thinking 

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks 

  • Interest in process improvement, time studies, or manufacturing analytics
