General Purpose 

We are looking for a Temporary Real Estate Loan Processor to be "On call" to fill in for department vacations and/or leaves of absences.  The Temporary Real Estate Loan Processor is responsible for working an entire real estate loan cycle from origination through funding. During this period, the Processor will coordinate all applicable residential loan documentation to complete the loan transaction in accordance with ILWU Credit Union policies and procedures, government regulations and, if applicable, secondary market investor guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  1. Assist members with real estate loan inquiries and applications.
  2. Originate loans within current regulatory requirements.
  3. Perform all duties necessary to complete the processing of real estate loan applications,
  4. Prepare Real Estate loan documents and close/disburse loans and set up payments as needed.
  5. Discuss real estate products with members looking to purchase, refinance or obtain a second mortgage (HELOC or fixed second)
  6. Process export of Real Estate loans from loan origination system.
  7. Assist members with title issues
  8. Communicate to members and vendors.

Qualifications

  1. Requires current registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System Registry (Please include your NMLS# on your resume to confirm).
  2. Requires current working experience (within last 5 years) as a mortgage loan originator and processor.
  3. Requires proficiency in Mortgagebot LOS or equivalent loan origination software.
  4. Strong understanding of company loan policies and guidelines, as well as all federal and state laws and regulations.
  5. Knowledge of multiple types of loans such as conventional, fixed/ adjustable, non-conforming, FNMA and FHLMC, and Home Equity Lines of Credit.
  6. Microsoft Office Suite knowledge and Symitar preferred.
  7. Working knowledge of credit fundamentals, real estate products, policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
  8. Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Internet, and 10-key
  9. Requires an equivalent of a high school level of language, math and reasoning skills, and four years real estate loan origination and processing or underwriting experience in a financial institution.
  10. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally and empathically with members.

  13. Good math, reading, and comprehension abilities.
  14. Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  15. Ability to work independently while maintaining high productivity and accuracy.

  17. Excellent time management, organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  18. Good organization and time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  19. Good math, analytical and problem-solving skills.  Ability to collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  
  20. Working knowledge of English, spelling, and grammar.
  21. Ability to maintain accuracy and promptly complete duties with a high degree of attention to detail while meeting demanding deadlines. 
  22. Ability to take initiative and make decisions within established guidelines. 
  23. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  24. Ability to protect and adhere to member privacy and confidentiality guidelines.
  25. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding Credit Union records and data.
  26. The versatility and flexibility to successfully serve as a back up to other positions as required.

Work Environment
Most work is performed in an air-conditioned and heated office environment with exposure to basic office equipment and typical moderate office noise.
