Qualifications
- Minimum four-year degree in an Engineering discipline. A concentration in, or prior experience with, plastics or materials is preferred.
- Prior experience in the wire and cable industry would be a plus. For example, cable manufacturing processes, cable test methods, and fiber optics.
- Organizational skills to manage equipment procurement, process development, trial execution, and testing programs.
- Mathematical and analytical skills required to perform technical duties.
- Understanding and use of statistical processing techniques for cable process evaluation.
- Basic ability to use mechanical and electrical measuring equipment (ex. micrometers, calipers, ohm meter, thermocouples).
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel) writing instructions and reports. Drafting experience (AutoCAD or other) would be a plus.
- Familiarity with cable testing equipment such as tensile testers, load cells, optical power meters, and temperature chamber equipment. Experience with automated data acquisition equipment would be a plus.
