Responsibilities 

  • Support engineering staff involved in the planning and installation of subsea structures
  • Create, manage, and maintain GIS data for use in the maintenance of undersea constructs
  • Perform data entry and attribute population
  • Assist with integrating external datasets into established schemas
  • Create maps, databases and other deliverables, often on very short notice
  • Maintain archival records and data
  • Update and maintain metadata for all datasets and deliverables
  • Coordinate and liaison with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non-technical
  • Conduct routine quality control checks on spatial and tabular data
  • Maintain hardware, software, peripherals and associated system components on a closed network
  • Report directly to the GIS manager

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree
  • Minimum of 3 year professional experience using GIS systems
  • Expertise of ESRI ArcGIS desktop suite, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Broad knowledge of GIS file formats, maintenance, analysis, and conversions
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Understanding of CAD and associated file formats
  • Strong communication skills required for presentations and briefs
  • Must work well in a rapid paced office environment
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities, evolving project scopes, and urgent deadlines
  • Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple projects at a time
  • Familiarity with hydrographic GIS data
  • Familiar with meta-data and python programming, geodatabases and geometric networks
  • Cartographic design and map making
