Position Overview

Training Supervisor - Reporting to the SCS Factory Focus Managers,

Responsible for the management and oversight of all training programs within the SubCom Cable Systems (SCS) Manufacturing organization. The Training Manager/Supervisor will complete tasks to oversee the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training content for a multi-cultural/ multi-lingual manufacturing facility to establish initial competency and maintain proficiency for employees to safely, and with first-time quality, manufacture undersea fiber optic cable systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide oversight of the development and administration of company compliance and manufacturing department specific training and certifications.
  • Manage and provide oversight of the development and administration of departmental and personnel training and onboarding/orientation plans.
  • Manage and provide oversight of the development of training processes, procedures, curricula, and training content to maintain compliance with Federal, State, Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, and Regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and provide oversight of the development and tracking of the status of curricula, qualification, and certification structure and content utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Support non-standard business hours for 4 x 4 day and night shifts.
  • Leads training effectiveness assessments of companywide training programs to ensure departmental needs are met and to drive continuous improvement of all associated training materials.
  • Leads performance assessments of companywide training programs to ensure compliance with procedural and regulatory requirements.
  • Directs curricula and training content restructuring to increase overall training effectiveness.
  • Ensure training documentation is completed timely and accurately.
  • Prepare/Schedule/Participate in Discipline Training Committees.
  • Act as Site Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator.
  • Develop and coach department personnel to increase overall training process knowledge, proficiency, and personal bandwidth.
  • Evaluate effectiveness & quality of training provided and implement corrective/improvement actions as needed.
  • Manage daily operation and resource allocation of the Training Group personnel.
  • Review and approve all training content materials and examinations.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities as a Training Program Coordinator as needed.
  • Attend educational conferences as needed to support company initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Level

  • Education level bachelor’s degree or equivalent training experience (5+ years training supervision/management)
  • Experience with the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with computer-based training development/implementation software
  • Experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS) software.
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and demonstrated high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong people skill and ability to conduct, plan, and coordinate training activities to a variety of audiences in a multi-cultural workplace.
