Shift Lead

Job Summary: 
The Shipping and Receiving Lead Teammate will work closely with the Warehouse Leadership team to lead the day-to-to-day activities in the shipping and receiving department. This position will focus on the execution of food safety and quality assurance functions in support of our commitment to our customers and of our Mission Statement. The Shipping and Receiving lead will also assist with the accuracy and efficiency of inbound and outbound material movements, planning, and assigning tasks to maximize productivity in accordance with company’s policies, OSHA regulations and applicable laws while following SOP’s. All TLCH Foods employees are also required to adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food handling procedures, quality control, and all safety procedures and policies in our distribution centers. 
Essential Responsibilities: 
● Assist with all phases of shipping and/or warehouse operations including shipping schedules, loading operations and material handling activities. 
● Assist with the training and development of all shipping and receiving teammates. ● Ensure shipping and receiving teammates are assigned to daily tasks that will maximize departmental efficiencies. 
● Assist Warehouse Leadership with accurate reporting and metrics to meet departmental goals. ● Ability to communicate effectively cross functionally to identify opportunities for improvement and resolve issues. 
● Ensure that all warehouse equipment in the Shipping and Receiving Department are being operated in accordance with all policies and procedures including OSHA regulations and applicable laws 
● Maintains inventory and product loss control, coordinates timely and accurate shipping and receiving, and ensures safety/operational guidelines are met. 
● Oversees the proper rotation and storage of products by using FIFO practice. ● Ensures proper procedures are in place and being followed for production, efficiency, quality of product, employee safety, state and federal guidelines. 
● Collaborates with other Team Members to coordinate activities of individual departments. ● Leads by example with the TLCH Foods Code of Ethics. This includes following company policies, standards and specifications. 
● Recommends improvements to reduce cost and drive productivity within the department while achieving the targeted Sales to Service Goals. 
● Ensures the cooler/freezer/ Dry side work area is clean and organized at all times. ● Ensure proper use of the ERP system by all shipping and receiving teammates (NAV) ● Ensures all scheduled delivered Inbound and Outbound are complete by end of shift and communicate any no shows or delays on end of shift reports. 
● Communicate effectively with the Logistics team and carriers to ensure all scheduled Outbound loads are complete due to delays with truck pick ups or production. 
● Performs other duties as assigned.
● Operates Machinery such as Forklifts safely and efficiently 
● Complete training as assigned. 
● Must follow TLCH Foods policies and procedures 
 

Requirements 
● Ability to communicate duties, tasks, policies and procedures to the team members through trainings and informal meetings 
● Ability to plan and prioritize workload, read and follow written and/or verbal instructions accurately in English 
● Attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, and flexibility required 
● Intermediate computer skills (i.e. Outlook and other Gmail tools) 
● Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines 
● Must uphold and follow workplace safety, food safety, and production quality standards ● Ability to work in high stress/fast-paced environment with multiple change-over’s ● Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (-9º-42º Fahrenheit) for 8 or more hours and in some instances, in a dark environment. This includes executing assigned tasks in the freezer as needed. 
● Must be willing and able to work a variety of shifts and overtime as required; even on short notice ● Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, in group settings, be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
