Software QA Tester

Job Summary

Brunswick Bowling Products, the largest global provider of bowling solutions, is seeking a Software QA Tester to join our team.  We develop full-service solutions for bowling centers that include the interface with the bowler at the lane, a point-of-sale system, self-serve kiosks, cloud-based reporting and marketing, and mobile apps. The ideal candidate will enjoy both validating software functionality and finding creative ways to break things.  Prior experience in software testing or a strong technical background is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document unit tests for new features based on functional descriptions
• Perform ad-hoc regression testing
• Verifying bugs are correctly fixed
• Develop and maintain automated regression tests
• Attempt to reproduce bugs reported from customers. Document in detail steps to reproduce
• Finding creating ways to break the software

Education and Experience

• Experience testing software
• A strong technical background
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Quality or similar curriculum or equivalent work experience in software quality testing, computer hardware, or software related role. 
• Experience as an end user of a point-of-sale (POS) or Food & Beverage software

Preferred Skills

• Familiar with Windows on a technical level
• Basic networking and hardware understanding
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to take good notes, be precise, and develop repeatable processes
• Attention to detail, with the ability to also evaluate the bigger picture
• Comfortable interacting with developers and end users
