The Energy Management Field Technician will be responsible for providing knowledge and experience for the safe implementation of natural gas projects. The role will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment and supporting LNG, CNG, Field Gas, Process, and Rotating Equipment, while providing top-level customer service.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical & Electrical Expectations:
    • Operate, install, maintain, troubleshoot & repair equipment associated with natural gas storage and delivery.
    • Maintain & troubleshoot process instrumentation, flow, pressure, temperature, level transmitters, and analyzers.
    • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot AC/DC circuits, motor controls, and PLC wiring.
    • Perform low-voltage electrical testing, wiring, and diagnostics.
    • Program, configure, and maintain PLCs, SCADA & HMI Systems.
    • Calibrate sensors, transmitters, and control loops for accuracy.
    • Control Systems: PID loops, interlocks & automation sequences.
    • Read & interpret P&IDs, PFDs, schematics, electrical diagrams, and equipment specifications
  • Develop control systems solutions, install equipment & establish new customer locations.
  • Operate equipment associated with storing and delivering natural gas to the end user. 
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot & calibrate electrical & instrumentation systems for LNG/CNG process & rotating equipment. Various control systems installations.
  • Read & interpret PID, PFD, schematics, electrical diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Maintain documentation & records of any equipment maintenance, parts, repairs & modification.
  • Train staff, contractors, and customers on using & maintaining electrical & instrumentation systems.
  • Conduct low-voltage electrical testing, wiring, and troubleshooting.
  • Safely perform assigned tasks & responsible for safety policies and procedures.
  • Set up and move equipment on, and around project locations.
  • Perform preventative and corrective mechanical service on company equipment.
  • Operate light-duty vehicles with or without trailers.
  • Correctly document daily activities (JSAs & Job Tickets), time and fuel tracking.
  • Develop knowledge of internal policies, government safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • US Military Veteran, National Guard/Reserve Member or Military Spouse preferred.
  • High School Diploma/GED
    • Technical Electrical Certificate preferred
    • GTI Energy Certificate for Technical Aspects of the Natural Gas Infrastructure preferred
  • 2+ years with AC/DC circuits, motor controls, PLC wiring, and low-voltage troubleshooting.
  • 2+ years process instrumentation, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) & electrical drawings.
  • 2+ years in natural gas operations, process equipment, engine, compressor mechanics, and/or gas compression.
  • 1+ years of Allen Bradley, Siemens, Click PLC & HMI Automation hardware/software preferred.
  • Knowledge of the LNG & CNG process flow & operations with a complete understanding of process & control theory.
    • This can be applied to the process & control theory for water, oil, natural gas, and/or chemicals
  • Knowledge of equipment & proficiency in operating each piece of equipment.
    • This can be applied to the equipment for water, oil, natural gas, and/or chemicals
  • Obtain Texas Railroad Commission LNG/CNG Certification
  • Present & maintain a good drivers license & record to operate vehicles safely & in compliance with applicable laws & company policies.
  • Mechanically and technically inclined skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to use Word, Excel, email and mobile apps.
  • Respond to customers with courtesy & knowledge, good judgment & customer service skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certifications as required by regulations or customers.

Work conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with routine exposure to all weather conditions.
  • Able to wear PPE, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, protective footwear and earplugs as needed.
  • Able to handle emergencies, including possible exposure to gaseous atmospheres on occasion.
