CDP technician is responsible for operations and minor maintenance on midstream compression facilities including compressors, dehydrators, generators, motor control centers, separators and tanks.
Description
• Operate and monitor natural gas compressor stations and glycol dehydration units to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous gas flow and processing.
• Start, stop, and adjust reciprocating and rotary screw compressors based on pressure, flow, and operational demands.
• Monitor and maintain key process parameters including suction/discharge pressures, temperatures, glycol circulation rates, and contactor tower levels.
• Conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot process upsets, and perform minor maintenance to optimize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Perform daily chemical testing of glycol for pH, TEG concentration, and contaminants; adjust reboiler settings and circulation rates as necessary.
• Perform start-up and shutdown procedures of systems, including isolation, depressurization, and mechanical lockout/tagout procedures.
• Coordinate with plant personnel and maintenance teams during scheduled shutdowns, pigging operations, and emergency situations.
• Maintain compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards including emission monitoring and leak detection (LDAR).
• Accurately complete shift logs, safety documentation, and maintenance reports using computerized systems such as eMaintenance and Asset Panda.

• Communication Skills: Clear communication to convey problems to team members.
• Participating in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) sessions
• Maintain regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in conjunction with and through close coordination with the operations, engineers, foreman, superintendent and safety teams
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CDP Technician or similar is preferred

• Able to react to potentially dangerous situations quickly and appropriately.
• Able to stand, walk, lift to 50 lbs., bend, have visual acuity, hearing, and speaking.
• Able to climb 15-foot-high ladders and stairwells.
• Able to work in hot and cold weather.
