Inspection technicians are responsible for Inspection duties, documenting, reporting, data entry, and relaying findings to engineering and production.
Description
• Perform API (American Petroleum Institute) inspection duties per ASME (American Society Mechanical Engineering) industry standard codes.
• Perform NDE (Non-Destructive Evaluation) inspections on Pressure Vessels, Piping Circuits and Production Tanks
• Use accepted Inspection NDE techniques per damage mechanism.
• Data Enty and Analysis of damage mechanisms
• Process correspondence and findings in a timely manner.
Requirements
• Safety-conscious
• Current Certified API 510 Pressure Vessels and API 570 Process Piping
• Experience with UT (Ultrasonic Testing) thickness and corrosion scanning techniques.
• PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing) scanning techniques preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical applications and Oil and Gas Production Equipment
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently with little supervision.
• Perform call out duties for equipment and inspection request.
• Collaborating with engineers and operations
• Competent computer skills, experience in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Familiarity with relevant software for data logging and Inspection management systems.
• Communication Skills: Clear communication to convey problems to team members.
• Participating in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) sessions
• Knowledge of PSM (Prosses Safety Managed) requirements is preferred.
• Maintain regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in conjunction with and through close coordination with the operations, engineers, foreman, superintendent, and safety teams.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as an API Inspector and NDE Technician preferred.
Physical Requirements
• Able to react to potentially dangerous situations quickly and appropriately.
• Able to stand, walk, lift to 50 lbs., bend, have visual acuity, hearing, and speaking.
• Able to climb 15-foot-high ladders and stairwells.
• Able to work in hot and cold weather.
Additional Details
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must live within a 45-mile radius of operating area.
• Good understanding of local geography preferred.
