Position Summary:A Material Handler, or Warehouse Associate, handles, moves and stores various non-hazardous and hazardous materials within a warehouse. Their main duties include loading and unloading different transport items, recording inventory statuses and making sure deliveries properly match purchase orders.

Operates a stand-up and sit-down forklift and a pallet jack to move materials.

Loads and/or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, racks, lifting devices and trucks.

Opens bales, crates and other containers.

Verifies the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries.

Weighs materials and/or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.

Transfers packaging materials between the main warehouse and satellite warehouse via forklift and/or truck.

Assists shipping and receiving areas by unloading trucks and receiving in materials systematically.

Maintains the production line stock with packaging materials needed to fulfill orders

Delivers finished goods from production area back to the warehouse.

Wraps the finished goods and prepares the pallets for shipping.

Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards; returns inventory from production.

Transfers inventory movements systematically.

Uses ERP system to administer Shipping, Receiving and Material Transfer documents.

Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping warehouse aisles, racks, pallet area, and work-stations neat and orderly at all times.

Maintains weekly cleaning log.

Assists with counting of physical inventory as needed and annually.

Performs cycle counts as necessary to support inventory control.

Follows SOPs (standard operating procedures), safety policy and cGMP requirements.

Contributes to the overall team effort and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Skills:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

At least 2 years of warehouse experience required.

At least 1 year in a cGMP environment preferred.

Certification to drive forklift and other powered industrial equipment required.

Excellent organizational skills; detail oriented and able to manage time efficiently.

Language Ability:Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.

Mathematical Ability:Add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply/divide with 10's and 100's. Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability:Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, email and ERP Systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving machines in warehouse and production areas and handling of sanitation chemicals and raw materials. Protective clothing or gear such as goggles, gloves and safety shoes may be required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Work also requires some physical strain, such as long periods of standing and walking in a warehouse facility and lifting of moderately heavy items such as raw materials, packaging and finished product cases. Other physical demands include climbing, crouching and reaching.
