Four Points Bellingham, managed by Providence Hospitality Partners is based in Denver, Colorado, is hiring an Accounting Clerk. Purpose: Obtains revenue and pays invoices by verifying and completing payable and receivable transactions. 

Job Duties:

  • Assists with group billing.
  • Oversees all Night Audit staffing, training and reporting
  • Ensures accuracy of all daily reporting  
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
  • Sends weekly (or biweekly) AP Batch to Corporate.
  • Obtains revenue by verifying transaction information; computing charges and refunds; preparing and mailing invoices; identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments.
  • Collects revenue by reminding delinquent accounts; notifying customers of insufficient payments.
  • Handles and resolves all guest dispute calls. 
  • Reviews and responds to credit card disputes. 
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
  • Verifies AP accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
  • Maintains financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls. 
  • Assists with daily cash deposits. 
  • Assists with monthly bank audits. 
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Completes and sends daily revenue report in the Controllers absence. 

Qualifications

Administrative Writing Skills, Organization, Data Entry Skills, General Math Skills, Financial Software, Familiarity with PMS Systems is an asset, Familiarity and proficiency in Microsoft products such as Word and Excel, Analyzing Information, Attention to Detail, Thoroughness, Reporting Research Results, Verbal Communication

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Accounting experience required; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Hotel experience is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Continually required to stand and walk
  • Occasionally required to sit and utilize hand and finger dexterity to use a keyboard and office equipment
  • Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds

SALARY:

  • $24-$27 hourly DOE
