JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW

The Senior Accounting Clerk processes accounts payable and receivable. Additionally, this position is responsible for scanning, filing, logging, copying, and assisting in various hotel office projects and completing special projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. You will have the audit team reporting directly to you concerning billing & reporting.

  • Review and process daily Hotel & F&B receipts
  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Daily enter key data of financial transactions in the database
  • Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
  • Completes special projects as assigned
  • Cross-trains in the duties and responsibilities of the Hotel Front Desk Department as necessary
  • Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all guests, vendors, and coworkers
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience required
  • Specialized technical and accounting courses or equivalent preferred
  • PMS & Hotel experience required

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English and have good verbal and written communication skills
  • PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment), and working knowledge of PMS & POS accounting software programs is preferred
  • Microsoft Office skills required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Continually required to sit and utilize hand and finger dexterity to operate a keyboard and office equipment
  • Occasionally required to bend or stoop and lift items less than 25 lbs.

SALARY: $25.00 - $28.50 D.O.E

HOURS: M - F 9am to 5pm
