Description

In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the PACS Administrator is responsible for the administration, planning, implementation, maintenance and management for all Information Technology systems pertaining to the enterprise imaging environment for the Memorial Health System. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.

 

Job Functions:

  1. Performing as project lead for implementing medical imaging systems.
  2. Perform as primary support person for implementation of all medical imaging systems.
  3. Evaluate existing enterprise imaging infrastructure to ensure all requirements of MHS are being met.
  4. Work closely with vendors to ensure that the capabilities of their systems are able to meet the needs & expectations of future plans
  5. Create and maintain documentation for all imaging devices and systems within the MHS.
  6. Provide end-user support for all applications pertaining to enterprise imaging within the MHS.
  7. Works with departmental staff to ensure that the imaging systems are optimized to increase workflow.
  8. Provide end-user training for all enterprise imaging applications.
  9. Acts as liaison between MHS & other imaging vendors and partners.
  10. Works closely with Radiologist group to ensure that imaging and report workflow is working optimally.
  11. Troubleshoot connectivity issues between all imaging equipment within the MHS.
  12. Troubleshoot system issues from the server and client slides of all enterprise imaging applications.
  13. Actively supports and promotes system standardization, utilization, and best practices.
  14. Monitors, manages, and verifies integrity of backups of system configurations and patient data for all imaging systems.
  15. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Minimum of Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology, CIT, or related discipline.
  • IT credentials preferred in areas such as Networking, or System Administration.
  • Strong preference for CPAS,CPSA,CPIA, or CIIP certification through PARCA or ABII.
  • Experience working in healthcare IT preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and workflow.
  • Strong knowledge of IT related concepts and terminology so as to speak at a highly detailed level with other IT support staff, and the ability to make the average person understand.

 

Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:

The PACS Administrator is required to complete any of the following certifications within 2 years of their hire date; CPAS, CPIA, CPSA, or CIIP.

 

Compensation Details:  Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
