Distribution Driver - FT

Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY (MOW) is a leading senior service provider in Greater Cincinnati. Our mission is to deliver essential services that promote the independence of seniors so they may remain in the comfort of their own homes. We are an official member of Meals on Wheels America, and our regional organization is one of the largest in the country. Every year, we reach nearly 10,000 seniors throughout 13 counties with our services.

The Meals on Wheels Distribution Delivery Driver is a full-time, Monday - Friday days only position in which the Driver will deliver meals to designated Senior congregate sites and other locations in an assigned geographic area.  Work hours are primarily 6a – 2p.  No CDL required.  $17 per hour to start.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Pack and transport meals to organizational congregate sites and other locations.  Work within the distribution operations of the organization.  

TYPICAL WORK CONDITIONS:  Work is performed in the distribution area, in a vehicle and at organizational congregate sites/business locations.   

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Determine and pack meals for delivery to organizational congregate sites.
• Establish supportive, caring relationships with each staff and client served.
• Keep all work space free from clutter and hazards.
• Maintain all regulatory requirements as specified by funders and contracts.
• Complete a daily log of activities and deliveries.
• Perform daily inspection of agency vehicle and report vehicle safety concerns that need to be corrected immediately.
• Attend approved educational and training events, including facility in-service training.
• Provide services in a safe and compliant manner.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all client care information.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Ability to read and interpret maps and schedules, follow simple instructions use mobile application (ServTracker) for tracking purposes.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, to include THC/marijuana.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

• Physically push and pull carts loaded with meals, milk, bread and other products weighing up to 200 pounds.
• Have the ability to judge distances, read signs from a distance and have the ability to work in dim or an unlit environment.
• Have the ability to maneuver equipment safely through hallways, refrigeration units and into storage units.
• Have the ability to be aware of surrounding environment.
• Have the ability to hear and follow instructions.
• Have the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must be in general good health and demonstrate emotional stability.
• Have the ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
• Have the ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, move intermittently and drive for extended periods of time during working hours.
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs.
