Description

Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH and Northern KY (MOW) provides nutritious meals delivered to the homes and congregate sites of seniors in the Greater Cincinnati, and Northern Kentucky communities.  The MOW program supports independence of seniors while promoting their social, physical, and emotional well-being.

The Partnerships and Events Manager is a frontline fundraising position responsible for developing strategic corporate and community partnerships which support MOW’s impact in our community. In addition, this role will provide leadership to two signature events throughout the year. 

The Partnerships and Events Manager will direct and implement a comprehensive program with the goal of engaging corporate and community partners to support MOW through event sponsorships, targeted program or special project investments, and sustained plans for long-term annual and major gifts. 

The successful candidate will be an exceptional project manager who can build authentic and rewarding relationships and grow giving opportunities over time. 

The MOW Partnerships and Events Manager is a full-time, Monday - Friday position, with occasional evenings and weekends.  Medical, dental and vision benefits available day one.  Ten paid holidays per year and paid time off accrual starts day one. 

 

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
 

The Partnerships and Events Manager is a self-starter, whose role requires comprehensive attention to detail, commitment to accuracy and ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments while meeting deadlines.  

TYPICAL WORK CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an office environment with heavy use of telephones and computer systems as well as in the field for development and relationship management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Essential Fundraising Responsibilities

  • Grow and manage a portfolio of individual and corporate donors to develop strong fundraising partnerships for long-term support. Generate support through pipeline management, including identification, research, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Expand MOW support by making in-person visits, conducting presentations at external engagement events, and speaking to stakeholders to develop relationships and secure support.
  • Collaborate with the fundraising team to integrate fundraising components into events, including auctions, raffles, and donation appeals throughout the year.
  • Work closely with donors and sponsors to recognize their contributions and ensure a positive experience during events.
  • Collaborate with our Volunteer Engagement team to provide donor relation strategies, leveraging organizational leadership where appropriate, identifying opportunities to convert community volunteer efforts into philanthropic support.
  • Provide updates on attendance of events and strategize with fundraising team on most impactful interactions with attendees.
  • Work with advancement team members and MOW Leadership to develop comprehensive engagement plans for corporate and community partners.
  • Track all necessary donor data, including contacts, opportunities, actions, and other details in donor database (Raiser’s Edge NXT).
  • Develop sponsorship and partnership proposals with an action plan to gain philanthropic support.
  • Represent the organization at community and networking events.
  • Use innovative and creative techniques to engage supporters and increase investments.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, trustworthiness, flexibility, and compassion to address the practicalities of a growing nonprofit, along with the creativity and persistence required to elicit new thinking and change.
  • Attend meetings as required by supervisor or agency.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive subject matter.

Primary Event Related Responsibilities

 

  • Take the lead in planning and executing our annual gala – Meals Madness – a pivotal fundraising and community engagement event with over 300 attendees. Coordinate all aspects of the gala, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, speakers, and program development.  Specific items include (but not limited to) -
    • Develop and oversee the gala budget, ensuring cost efficiency and maximizing fundraising potential.
    • Solicits and secure sponsorships, in-kind donations and restaurant/beverage partners.
    • Collaborate with the fundraising team to integrate the gala into the organization's overall fundraising strategy.
  • Provide leadership for the annual “Bust a Crust” event – our fall fundraising initiative engaging community partners, sponsors, and individual participation with the goal of raising critical funds necessary to deliver the organization’s mission.
    • Develop and oversee budget, ensuring cost efficiency and maximizing fundraising potential.
    • Solicits and secure sponsorships, in-kind donations.
    • Collaborate with the fundraising team to integrate Bust a Crust into the organization's overall fundraising strategy.

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, philanthropic studies or a similar field.
  • 3 – 5 years of fundraising and event related experience.
  • Experience working with CRM software (Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Experience working with volunteer committees.
  • High degree of professionalism, excellent verbal and written communication and public speaking skills.
  • A team player who possesses strong time management skills, is detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills as well as persuasion and recruiting skills.
  • Must exhibit initiative and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Caring and compassionate individual with a desire to support seniors.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, to include THC/marijuana, and background check.

 

MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM INSURANCE COVERAGE:

 

  • $100,000 Personal Injury
  • $300,000 Accident coverage
  • $100,000 Property Damage
  • Must present a copy of a current insurance card and proof of liability coverage.

 

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Work in an office environment.
  • Sit, bend, lift, move and sit for extended periods of time during working hours.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs.
  • Be willing to work the hours necessary to perform tasks to completion. Working hours are typically 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday (occasional evening and weekend work is required).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Advancement Officer or other senior leadership staff.
  • Have the ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Have the ability to lift, push and pull in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Have the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
