POSITION SUMMARY: To provide high-level administrative support to the Vice President of Donated Goods Retail and the company by conducting investigations, completing research, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests, and performing administrative functions in support of the company’s loss prevention goals.

- Consistently maintain acceptable level of productivity, ensuring accounts payable/disbursement functions are completed accurately and timely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform general office duties, such as ordering supplies, maintaining records management database systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work.
- Train others on loss prevention.
- Perform audits and track audit completion for the company
- Visit stores frequently to review loss prevention / asset protection and HR compliance
- Identifies, and recommend and implement or monitor processes to reduce property or financial losses.
- Investigate known or suspected internal investigations and provide written reports.
- In support of investigations, surveil and monitor live and recorded CCTV footage to detect and follow upon suspicious behavior, theft, or policy violations. Maintain awareness of high-risk areas within each location and adjust surveillance focus accordingly.
- Conduct floor walks to observe customer and employee behavior.
- Identify and investigate internal and external theft incidents.
- Collaborate with store staff to deter shoplifting through visible presence and awareness.
- Create and maintain BOLO files in ThinkLP for distribution to all locations.
- Review point-of-sale transactions and register reports for irregularities or fraudulent activity.
- Use company interview techniques and reporting models to investigate suspected theft issues. This would include the investigation process and ensuring full documentation.
- Submission of law enforcement reporting.
- Track and report on shrinkage and recommend corrective actions
- Work closely with store management and staff to promote a culture of loss prevention.
- Assist in training employees on theft deterrence, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Create training and SOP's for Retail employees.
- Support compliance with company policies and local laws.
- Respond to emergencies such as theft, vandalism, or disturbances in a calm and professional manner.
- Assist in enforcing safety protocols and evacuation procedures.
- Participate in inventory counts and audits to identify discrepancies.
- Investigate inventory shrinkage and recommend process improvements.
- Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while interacting with customers and staff.
- Handle sensitive situations discreetly and respectfully.
- Maintain documentation and reports in ThinkLP on all loss prevention activities, including incidents and/or investigations.
- Assist in the development of the new loss prevention software program and reporting.
- Monitor compliance with standard operating procedures for loss prevention or risk management. Recommend improvements in Loss Prevention programs.
- Train personnel in loss prevention activities.
- Analyze retail data to identify current or emerging trends in theft or fraud.
- Attend Organized Retail Crime meetings and others to network with other retail loss prevention departments and peace officer organizations.
- Performs other duties as assigned that would lead to successful operation of department, team and/or mission.

Education and/or Experience: Intermediate mathematical skills and the ability to read and write English. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and keyboarding. Two years administrative experience preferred. An Associate’s degree preferred, but not required. Excellent interpersonal communication skills in order to interact with all levels of management, employees, clients, and the public. Valid California driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and a DMV record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company.
Language Skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, employees, clients, customers, and the general public using tact, courtesy and cooperativeness.

Other Skills and Abilities: Effective interpersonal and communications skills to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff with the ability to give full attention to other persons and to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate and no interrupting. Ability to understand written sentences, paragraphs and work related documents.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Proficient skills in common accounting and Microsoft software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Schedule, Publisher, and Teams); willingness and ability to become an in-house expert on those systems preferred. Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, telephone, cell phone, tablet, fax and copy machine. Must efficiently prioritize daily tasks and incoming projects to meet deadlines. Must exhibit a high level of integrity and business ethics.
