POSITION SUMMARY
The EVS - Housekeeper works to maintain a sterile environment in and around the facility by maintaining cleanliness and a germ-free environment that is constantly exposed to the spread of germs and diseases. This role is also responsible for ensuring all cleaning chemicals are used as prescribed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for, but not limited to, the cleanliness of assessment rooms, waiting rooms, handrails, offices of administrative staff, and restrooms. This includes floors, windows, furniture, and equipment.
Terminal cleaning of client rooms including disinfecting and making clients beds, which can include cleaning of blood and other bodily fluids
Distribute clean towels, bed sheets, pillowcases, and wash cloths to clients
Dispose of waste in wastebaskets and sanitizes wastebaskets
Appropriate disposal of medical waste products like syringes, wound care waste, hand gloves etc.
Ensure standard precautions of safety in a health facility are strictly complied with
Proper storage of housekeeping equipment and/or materials like brushes, brooms, disinfectants, rags, and hand gloves
Respond to urgent and emergent situations in relation to cleaning facility environment
Exhibits courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with clients, families, and other personnel
Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in client flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality
Performs other duties as assigned by administration
