GENERAL PURPOSE:
Under the general direction of the IT Supervisor, the IT Electronic Health Records (EHR) Analyst is responsible for all aspects of EHR systems including implementation, planning, support training and maintenance in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Performs evaluations, designs, testing implementation, upgrades, support and maintenance of EHR applications.
- Researches and recommends software and hardware specific to EHR to the Director of IT and IT Supervisor.
- Evaluates integrating the legacy systems. Identifies and defines required system’s modifications/ or enhancements to improve existing systems.
- Perform data capture, and information workflows to assist in training staff, IT staff and assist Quality Director for quality care analysis.
- Works with IT Management and Quality Director to develop and design future needs and efficiency measures through workflow processes.
- Coordinates multi-system integration/interface for continuity of data across multiple systems within the organization.
- Works with outside vendors for design, upgrades and repairs for EHR System.
- Provide reports to IT Management pertaining to gap analysis, HEDIS, Quality Improvement methods and assist with data mapping to achieve the highest possible quality patient care.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABLITIES:
- BA degree in Information Technology preferred, or at least five (5) years experience performing the job duties listed above.
- Basic understanding of database design and data management concepts and models
- Knowledge of basic office practice and procedures, and numeric/alpha filing systems
- Basic knowledge of office equipment including computer, telephone, fax copy machinery, printer and PC application software including MS Office
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to comprehend work flow and integration of electronic applications
- Maintains confidentiality of all patients records
- Demonstrate clear knowledge of Ampla Health’s clinic structure, standards, procedures and protocols
- Excellent Customer Service skills required.
- Complete understanding of HIPAA requirements in a healthcare setting.
COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS:
- Must have neat and legible handwriting
- Must be able to interact with patients courteously and calmly
- Ability to communicate well with the public
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Works well with employees and vendors in a generally comfortable environment office. Employees must possess the following physical requirements:
1. May require prolonged sitting or standing
2. Vision sufficient to read handwritten, typed and computer printed documents throughout the day
3. Speech and hearing sufficient to receive and communicate detailed information clearly by phone and in person
4. Motor skills sufficient to use a variety of hand held tools and to manipulate equipment
5. Must have a high level of manual dexterity
6. Physically able to sit, walk or otherwise stand for long periods of time, frequent bending, stooping, and stretching. Repetitive hand, arm and shoulder movements.
7. Able of lift up to 40 pounds and pushing up to 100 pounds (on wheels)
