Ampla Health is seeking a Quality Assistant to support our Quality Team in improving patient care outcomes. This role is responsible for training staff on quality measures, reconciling patient data, and using standing orders to close care gaps. The Quality Assistant helps ensure accurate reporting of HEDIS, UDS, and other quality metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support providers and staff with quality workflows and training
  • Use EHR and payer platforms to track and improve quality measures
  • Provide report cards to care teams and identify missed opportunities
  • Perform patient outreach to close gaps in care
  • Maintain and reconcile patient data from multiple sources
  • Assist with quality assurance audits and data validation
  • Collaborate with clinical teams, quality coordinators, and leadership

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; Associate degree or Medical Assistant training preferred
  • Experience with EHR systems and Microsoft Excel/Word
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to type 40+ wpm and create spreadsheets/graphs
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs and travel to assigned clinics as needed

Qualifications

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under the supervision of the Director of Quality, the Quality Assistant is responsible for training quality measures, gathering and reconciling patient data from multiple data sources to ensure that quality metrics are accurate. The QA will also utilize standing orders to close quality gaps.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Meets daily with quality team.
  2. Utilizing the Electronic Health Record (EHR), Payors Platform, to improve HEDIS and UDS quality measures within clinical site.
  3. Train clinician/care team on measures and provide report cards to clinical provider care teams.
  4. Identify missed opportunities based on quality dashboard data. Act on this data by performing outreach to patients and utilize standing orders to close gaps.
  5. Track and support patients when they obtain services outside the health center which results in reports needed to meet quality metrics.
  6. Tracking quality data for each provider care team and clinical site to ensure improvement and utilizing correct workflow.
  7. Participates in committee meetings when requested.
  8. Provides on-site support for clinicians and staff as needed for quality workflow assistance.
  9. Coordinate with Quality Team to perform Quality Assurance audits to verify that quality workflows are being followed in the clinics.
  10. Reports to Director of Quality and RN Quality Nursing Supervisor any data outliers which may require further investigation/validation by our IT team.
  11. Collaborate with the Quality Improvement Coordinators to follow quality workflows and training.
  12. Communicate with various Ampla Health departments to share quality information.
  13. Provide data for continuous quality improvement.
  14. Attend regular meetings with the Director of Quality and Quality Team.

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABLITIES

  1. Graduation from high school.
  2. Associate degree or equivalent, preferred.
  3. Completion of Medical Assistant, preferred.
  4. Proficient in the use of Electronic Health Record, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  5. Ability to create spreadsheets and graphs.
  6. Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm.
  7. Ability to use general office equipment such as computer, typewriter, copy machine, telephone, etc.
  8. Strong problem solver.
  9. Possesses outstanding interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal skills.
  10. Able to attend meetings in person and on Microsoft Teams.

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS

  1. Must have neat and legible handwriting.
  2. Must be able to interact with patient and provider care team groups courteously and calmly.
  3. Ability to communicate well with the public

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Works will with patients in a generally comfortable environment office.

Must be able to hear and communicate with clients and staff on telephone and those who are served “in person”, and speak clearly to communicate information to clients and staff

  1. Able to move up to 40 lbs. (small equipment’s, supplies, etc.)
  2. Must have vision which is adequate to read memo’s, computer screen, registration forms and other clinic documents.
  3. Able to reach above shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, kneel, twist/turn.
