Chief Advice Officer - Savant Wealth Management

As a key member of Savant’s executive team, the Chief Advice Officer will be responsible for shaping and executing the firm’s integrated advice strategy—ensuring a seamless, high-impact client experience across all areas of wealth management. This role will lead the alignment of financial planning, wealth transfer, Savant Legal LLP, risk management, investment management, and tax planning into a cohesive and scalable service model. With a firm-wide scope, the Chief Advice Officer will drive initiatives that enhance advisor effectiveness, elevate client value, and improve operational efficiency. This leader must bring deep experience in wealth management, fluency in financial technology, and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization—partnering with executive leadership, subject matter experts, technology teams, and advisory staff to deliver a best-in-class, segmented advice offering.

The Chief Advice Officer can expect to focus in the following areas:

  • Advice Teams

    • Lead and coordinate efforts across various functional advice (specialist) teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of strategic initiatives and achieving organizational goals efficiently.

    • Lead and manage a high-performing team by fostering a constructive culture, provide clear expectations, direction, and support, and ensure accountability and continuous improvement to achieve goals and drive excellence.

    • Develop and execute the strategic plan for wealth advice services, ensuring alignment with the firm’s overall goals.

    • Lead the integration of wealth advice service functions to provide clients with a cohesive, one-stop wealth management experience delivered on a segmented basis.

    • Drive innovation in service delivery, leveraging technology and industry best practices to enhance client value.

    • Ensure wealth advice service functions operate in a cost-effective manner, while maximizing value to clients and advisors, without compromising on culture or quality.

    • Implement process improvements to enhance service delivery efficiency and scalability.

    • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to monitor team performance and ensure the effective execution of strategic initiatives.

    • Ensure all wealth advice service functions adhere to regulatory requirements and internal compliance standards.

    • Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with the delivery of wealth advice services.

    • Work closely and foster strong relationships with other senior leaders and internal stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to wealth advice services, drive collaboration and alignment across functions and teams.

  • Client and Advisor Engagement:

    • Develop and implement engagement strategies to enhance the client and advisor experience across all offices.

    • Measure utilization of resources, processes, and specialists across Savant’s various client segments, markets and offices.  Develop and implement plans to optimize adoption to desired levels.

    • Recommends technology, tools, and processes that can enhance advisor and client engagement.

    • Serve as an advocate for advisors, addressing their concerns and ensuring they have the necessary support to succeed.

    • Routinely connects with advisory teams across the firm to stay abreast of client and advisor needs.

    • Ensure consistency in client and advisor experiences across different regions, offices, teams and advisors aligning with the company’s standards and expectations.

    • Provide insights and recommendations on improving client and advisor satisfaction and retention.

    • Collaborate with the corporate communications team to develop and deliver key messages to internal and external stakeholders.  Assists with content creation for advisory communications and retreats.

  • Unified Advice Platform:

    • Lead the development and delivery of a differentiated and integrated advice platform that leverages and empowers advisors, attracts potential M&A partners and efficiently delivers high real and perceived value to clients.

    • Work closely with advisory, specialist advice teams, the Ideal Futures Platform manager, training resources and the technology team to develop the platform and affect the change management required to optimize the utilization of the platform.

    • Platform efficiently, effectively and systematically delivers comprehensive and proactive advice to Navigator and Private Client segments, delivered by advisors, and supported by specialists.

    • Deliver an integrated and scalable platform that allows advisors to efficiently deliver a responsive and tailored advice to Beacon and Roadmap clients.  This platform should be technology forward and empower advisors to self-perform all advice functions.

    • Platform delivers a consistent and scalable client experience across regions, offices, teams and advisors.

    • Platform imbeds client segmentation and provides metrics that provide leadership the data required to hold advisors and specialists accountable to deliver advice optimally and efficiently.

  • Leadership:

    • Work closely with the Head of Wealth, the CEO, the Ideal Futures Platform Manager and other key leaders to drive organizational goals.

    • Promote Savant’s brand values and culture across all interactions and communications.

    • Active participant on the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Operating Committee contributing to the strategic direction of the company and providing insights and recommendations that align engagement strategies with the firm's long-term objectives and overall business goals.

    • Represent Savant at industry events, conferences, and in media engagements to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation.

Qualifications

The Chief Advice Officer (CAO) Role typically requires the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing or related field from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in wealth management, with a focus on financial planning, advanced planning, tax planning, wealth transfer, or a related area.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role with a proven track record of managing multiple wealth management functions.

  • Knowledge of best practices for wealth management teams and firms, including strategy, growth, human capital, operations, etc.

  • Team player with can-do attitude, flexibility, and desire to support the growth of advisors/teams/regions/firm.

  • Willingness and ability to travel.

  • Proficiency with financial planning software, CRM systems, and other tools commonly used in the RIA industry required, preferred experience with Salesforce, Tamarac, MS Office, MoneyGuide, and eMoney.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance related to wealth management services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degrees and designations (e.g. MBA, JD, CFP®, CPA) 

  • Experience working in a multi-state, multi-office environment.

  • Experience overseeing investment management functions.

  • Proven ability to drive cost-effective solutions while enhancing service delivery.

  • Strong understanding of the financial advisory landscape and client needs in a wealth management context.

The Perks:

The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $250,000-$335,000. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions.
