As a Lead Portfolio Manager, you’ll do more than manage investments — you’ll oversee and develop a talented team of portfolio managers while delivering an exceptional client experience grounded in our fiduciary promise. You’ll collaborate across advisory, investment research, and client service teams to design and implement robust portfolio management solutions tailored to our clients’ diverse and evolving needs.

The Lead Portfolio Manager can expect to focus in the following areas:

• Maintain a working knowledge of Savant’s investment philosophy, portfolio construction, and appropriate model securities.
• Take a strategic and forward-looking approach to Savant’s portfolio management processes.
• Oversee and drive changes to the systems used by portfolio managers and traders in order to scale in step with Savant’s growth goals.
• Develop best in class talent across the various portfolio manager functions.
• Maintain and optimize processes for our portfolio management solutions, including documenting processes, staying up to date on and implementing new features and releases, and testing processes for efficiency.
• Ensure policies and procedures are adequately documented for training.
• Collaborate with advisory and investment research teams to provide outstanding service for clients with complex portfolio needs.
• Maintain strong working relationships with investment research and investment operations leadership to evaluate and improve the use of our portfolio management systems in delivering services to clients.
• Support the M&A and investment research teams where necessary.
• Provide support for the various portfolio manager functions during times of elevated workloads and/or in the absence of portfolio managers.

A couple things to note about our Lead Portfolio Manager position:

• This position has flexibility work remotely, but you must live within commutable distance to any of our Savant office locations. Highest preferred locations would be near our Rockford, IL, York, PA, or Birmingham, AL offices.
• This is a full-time position.

The Lead Portfolio Manager position typically requires the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferably in the areas of finance, accounting, economics and/or related field
• 7+ years’ experience trading/managing portfolios at an RIA or similar firm
• 3+ years’ experience managing individuals, including performing performance reviews
• Proven ability to develop full potential of employees and lead others to success
• Proven ability to foster a culture of collaboration
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Series 65 or other relevant designation in good standing
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Experience with Tamarac highly preferred, or similar enterprise level portfolio management software experience
• CFA charter holder highly preferred

The Perks:

At Savant, we are committed to supporting our employees' as well as investing in their well-being and growth. We take a market-based approach to compensation. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $110,000 - $161,000. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits.
