Job Summary

As a member of the software engineering team, the DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of Mesa’s CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure. This role will lead the automation of software delivery and infrastructure changes, ensure security is integrated into the development lifecycle, and help scale Mesa’s cloud systems with efficiency and reliability.

 

Essential Duties

  • Create and refine CI/CD pipelines for deploying code using Azure DevOps.

 

  • Integrate Sonatype (Nexus and IQ) into build pipelines to enforce SDLC security.

 

  • Establish and support Power Platform build pipelines to streamline Power Platform development.

 

  • Maintain and update Docker base images for secure and efficient container builds.

 

  • Setup, maintain, and improve Azure App Services following best practices in deployment, security, and redundancy.

 

  • Provision and manage virtual machines; ensure patching and system health.

 

  • Configure and maintain Azure Enterprise Applications used for SSO/SAML and provisioning.

 

  • Manage SAML certificate renewals and review Azure “Recommendations” to maintain compliance and performance.

 

  • Monitor infrastructure for bottlenecks and performance issues; implement improvements.

 

  • Document infrastructure and DevOps processes clearly and accessibly.

 

  • Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to provision infrastructure and store configurations in source control.

 

  • Configure Sonatype tools to their full potential for SDLC compliance.

 

  • Maintain and upgrade Nexus and IQ servers; enforce policy compliance and assist developers with repository use.

 

  • Lead security initiatives within the engineering team with a focus on OWASP Top 10.

 

  • Participate in code reviews with an emphasis on application security.

 

  • Support security testing and remediation of in-house developed applications.

 

  • Performs all duties as assigned.

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience with Azure DevOps, Docker, Azure services, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Familiarity with Sonatype tools and managing software supply chain risk.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.

  • Working knowledge of Python or .NET programming languages.
