Description

The Subrogation Specialist  handles a steady case load of subrogation files for various client insurance carriers, both calling and mailing supporting documents to the adverse carrier, and negotiating for maximum recovery. This position is also responsible for a queue of arbitration files, writing successful contentions and applying supporting evidence for all forums within AFs (Arbitration Forums). Work includes Applicant, Response and Counter claims for multiple clients for losses in all 50 States. Priorities and responsibilities will vary throughout the year based upon business needs.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Handles all incoming/outgoing calls for insurance carriers, Arbitration Forum and client contacts professionally and knowledgeably
  • Works assigned queues and files in a timely manner
  • Identifies and separates client documents for evidence to support claim for payments
  • Negotiates payment with claimants' insurance carriers based upon proper review of file documents
  • Reviews and tracks subrogation files until completion
  • Reviews and forwards unresolved files to arbitration or legal department
  • Successfully reviews, analyzes, and files subrogation claims via Arbitration Forums
  • Professional contention writing to support the client’s liability position
  • Reviews and compiles documents to demine correct balance and best evidence for filing arbitration
  • Maintains Route Inventory and files arbitration timely
  • Attends and participates in trainings to become familiar with insurance coverage, state laws, and other relevant issues
  • Absorbs other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior insurance/subrogation/arbitration experience, preferred (auto-insurance background preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and professionally
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and dependability

  • Must demonstrate the ability to write a professional contention

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma required  (college degree, preferred)
